Kolosis Headquarters: The Seed Building

When you step into Kolosis headquarters in downtown Salt Lake City, you are stepping into a living piece of Utah history. Originally constructed in 1912 by August Vogeler for just $12,000, the building quickly became the cornerstone of his thriving business, the Vogeler Seed and Produce Company. Strategically located along the Rio Grande railroad line—a major hub for immigrants, soldiers, and travelers in the early 1900s—the company supplied farmers with seed, grains, hay, flour, and more.
The “Seed Building,” as it is still known today, has served many purposes over the years, including an envelope factory, a fur exchange, and, eventually, an office space for former United States Senator Orrin Hatch. Today, we are writing the next chapter in its rich history as the home of the nation’s fastest-growing pure-play biologics company.
We look forward to seeing you here on your next visit to Salt Lake!
